My 2016 Ford Focus SE with the 1.0L Ecoboost Turbo suffered sudden oil pressure loss while driving. It was towed to a mechanic, and they discovered the engine was seized. I researched this issue on the web and it seems very common in this engine. Has anyone else had this issue? What did you do? I cannot afford the $5000 the dealer wants to put a new engine in the car. Will Ford help me out since I am the second owner?
Thanks for any help.
Walt

Unless you have a warranty Ford has no reason to help you on a 8 year old car.

Tow things I should have mentioned:
The car has 67,000 miles total on it and has had regular service every 5,000 miles.
The issue is known to be a caused by clogging of the oil inlet in the pan due to build up of detritis from the wet timing belt as it ages.

None of that is relevant. Unless there is a warranty Ford has no reason to help.
