I purchased a used 2012 Jeep Liberty 4x4 Automatic Sport this Spring.
It had a Roof Rack on it with 3" wide Locking Extruded Aluminum Cross-Bars.
OF COURSE, the owner did not have the Cross-Bar Lock Keys......
Can anyone tell me about this 10 year old Cross-Bar ? Photos.....

The "Lock" requires some Odd Tube-Like Key (#47) to rotate the lock then allowing the "Y" shaped lever to be flipped up unlocking the clamp.....yes ?
Anybody got one of these ? Probably Chinese No Name brand....Arrgh ! Been looking on Google Images and E-Bay to no avail.

Since it has the Jeep logo, I would check with a dealership… They might have a standard key that went on the add-ons; because generally roof rack crossbars are added on at the dealer…

Jeep Parts in my town Knows nothing about them.....
Thinks it was THULE. Just asked THULE on their web site.....waiting reply.
Will visit a couple of Locksmiths....maybe I'll get lucky.
Since there is NO BRAND NAME on Cross-Bars.....must assume some Off Brand,
No Name Chinese item that flooded the Market ten years ago and has
disappeared into the woodwork, as per usual.
Hoping someone looking here has seen them, etc.
Wondering if I can make a key out of some Tubing. Such an ODD Key ! !
Worse scenario - I cut them off and buy the current Cross-bars in 2022.
Just is frustrating having to deal with empty looks and "We're sorry" !

Some quick googling indicated it's likely to be Thule. I'd check with them directly.

Toyota has some Crossbars with Odd Keys like this.
https://i.postimg.cc/LsLpb225/Toyota-Crossbar.jpg
and it uses a cylindrical key....some guy 'made' one with a 3-D printer !

Found it by surfing Google Images - "cylindrical+Crossbar+Keys"
STILL - I can't find mine yet ! !

"Some quick googling indicated it's likely to be Thule. I'd check with them directly. "
Could you be so nice as to post any links that indicate THULE ?
THULE hasn't answered me yet. I doubt that they ever will.
Everyone in SUPPORT, at any company, seems to be DUMBSTRUCK ! Can they even tell you the day it is ?
DO THEY HIRE JUST ANYONE OFF THE STREET NOW ? No effort expended.
Many seem to be TRYING to keep customers away. No instant $$$ in "Customer Service".

There weren't any links; just each reference that I saw that said original Jeep parts in 2012 were Thule.
I love the 3-D printer idea! That would probably work out very well.
Yes, customer service has gotten horrible pretty much everywhere in the last X number of years.

I may be able to MAKE a key our of Aluminum Rod....But I do not know
how this mechanism works. Push it in ? Push in the outer ring ?
Push in the center stub first ? Stand on my head and whistle Dixie ?
DoctorBill
PS - HOW do you keep these Idiotic ADS from blocking the view ? !
