Books On Forced Induction?

Im interested in learning as much as I can about forced induction (turbo and s/c.). Im looking for a book with good diagrams, and starts out fairly simple....but gets into the more advanced stuff.

I want to learn how it works, calculations involved, etc. Can anyone suggest anything to me? I specifically want a book....something I can read on a rainy day when I am away from the computer.

Thanks in advance

The book that I have is "Turbochargers" by Hugh MacInnes. There is another more popular book out there by Corky Bell. I can't think of the name right now though, something along the lines of Maximum Boost or something. Hope that helps

Yeah..............

Turbochargers by Hugh Macinnes, ISBN 0-912656-49-2

This book was published in 1976 and is now pretty dated, but still worth a look.

Maximum Boost by Corky Bell, ISBN 1-899870-23-7

Probably the best turbo book available at this time. Lots of theory and formulas, sounds ideal for you.

Supercharged by Corky Bell, ISBN 0-8376-0168-1

Just as good as the turbo book, but a lot of the information is identical to Corky's other book. For instance the chapter on intercooling is word for word identical. But if you are into superchargers, its a must have.

Forced Induction Performance Tuning by A. Graham Bell

I have this on order myself at the moment, so have not seen it yet. I have other books by Mr Bell that are excellent. If the Forced Induction book is only half as good as all his others, it will be very good indeed.

I will look into some of those titles.

Thank you very much Warpspeed and walterdixon, I appreciate it.
