Resetting the anti theft system

2002 Ford excursion XLT the antitheft system engage when vehicle was attempted to be stolen. The car will turn over but not start. Theft light on the dash blinking rapidly. I am looking for ways to reset the antitheft system. They messed up ignition but I can still put the key in the ignition and turn over. The driver door lock was broken and is inoperable but keyless entry still works

I’ve tried a couple fixes I found on the internet. But nothing worked yet.

If I need to provide more information I can just ask me for specifics. I want to avoid having to take to the dealership if possible. If there’s a way to bypass antitheft altogether or reset the system please share the fix.

I'm not familiar with that year system, but I can get you to a F-150 forum related to that year that probably used the same system to ask there.

Rather than the dealer, try some aftermarket shops that sell automobile electronics like stereo, and security systems. many install stuff at dealers so they have experience and usually less costly. My dealer installed remote start was not working. I went to a local one man shop with all kinds of stuff lying around run by a guy in his 60's. I have a 09 Murano. He looked behind the dash with a flashlight, opened up and removed the gauge cluster, found a lose wire and reset it in three minutes. Charged me 1/2 hour labor $45.00.
Good luck
