09 Malibu key fob

Can a 09 Malibu key fob be programed in the car? Key fob was laid aside with a dead battery a year ago or may be a 2 years. Replaced the battery and only the trunk release works. Is there any help out there.

Will need someone with an advanced scan tool to program it. It's unable to be self programmed like it used to be.
