3.9efi fitted a replacement idle valve for the last MOT, cheap one from ebay. Having subsequently discovered their susceptibility to failure I assumed it had failed as the symptoms suggest.
Ordered a replacement from Bearmach as recommended on another thread
Then found the one currently fitted wasn't tight! Finger tight at best so possibly leaking air.
doh!
