Indie Shop's Alignment Machine Doesn't Accept Requests!

Yesterday, I took my 2010 Honda Accord EX to my local aligner/mech. to have the toe touched up.
While he was able to achieve the negative thrust angle I requested via his Hunter rig, he told me "the machine won't let me through the process if I try to set front toe to anything but 0.0°" My request was for just 0.03° toe in on the fronts, left and right. Honda allows for up to 0.08° toe, in or out, for a total of 0.16°, so I know my request was not that draconian.
What's really going on here? The guy is not a 'McDonalds' aligner - just "get em in the green" - he actually knows his angles and listens to customer requests

Nobody?
Well, I consulted another indie closer to home, he also has Hunter setup, and he said he can do purely spec alignment, or custom settings. He does occasional racing alignments, and said he never hear of a "machine forbidding" any adjustment.

Agreed, you can set up the machine to let you perform any settings you desire, never heard of being forced to do what ~the program calls for.

Yeah, my second guy gave me a funny look when I explained that experience to him. Perhaps the first aligner was either afraid to, or not capable of, making such a fine adjustment. The front toe in on the 2008-12 U.S. Accord had a total of just over 1/10th degree total range in and out: 0.0°, +/-0.08°. I need just 0.02-03° in on both sides.
