I have a problem with my dash speakers in my 97 chrysler sebring, the whole dashboard around them seem to shake alot at louder volumes, or with alot of bass, i really want to to get it fixed but if i take to the dealer they'd prolly make me replace it and spend 100 bucks taking the dash out and putting it back on, anyone have any idea what the problem is? is the speaker blown, i cant tell.

try taking off the speaker grill and putting some thin dynamat around the area. You could even put it on the inside of the grill and use a razor blade to cut out where the "holes" should be. Then screw it down tight.

I also have a 1997 Sebring..runs great. the sound system is great but I blew both of my dash speakers(tweeters I think) and the right door speaker sounds like its also blown recently.
The dealer says it will cost me $100 for each dash speaker.....does anyone know where I can get some used speakers at a better price?

I'm telling you the dash speakers suck, i have a 96 sebring and the front right dash speaker rattles all the time. Here is what you can do about it besides getting them replaced. What you do is just cut them from your sound system because the dash speakers aren't like the component door speakers. I'm getting a new sound sytem and getting the guys to cut them because think about it those tweeters weren't meant to handle anything above a whisper so cut them and don't take them out because they look good just don't use them

trust me if u take out those dash speakers youre not going to like the result. with dashboard speakers what happens is the sound bounces off the windshield producing clearer highs then being muddled from down near the floor. just go to an audio shop and get new infinitys to replace the old ones, they are worth it.

I also have a 98 Sebring Coupe and the speakers rattle. Can someone please tell me what size the dash speakers are? I am trying to replace them and the dealership will not tell me what size they are. I guess that is because they want me to pay them to replace them. I have already replaced the door and rear speakers. Any help will be grately appreciated.
