Battery light stayed on,replaced alternator and battery.drove it next day after about 60 miles, the battery died completely....Any ideas?
the light never went off.

Sorry its a 2003 explorer with over 100000 miles....

only thing on was the radio during the 60 miles.

You drove it with the battery light on? I'd expect it to die....Did you confirm charging when new items installed? I'd expect it to die if you didn't.

Obviously, another issue exists. Checking connections, wiring, chewed, broken etc. Even corroded body, engine block grounds etc.

Hate to say it, but it sounds like a new alternator and battery were not needed. Proper diagnosis is the key remeber.

This is where diagnosis comes into play. When a battery light is on obviously the first thing to CHECK is the battery and alternator. They need to be actually checked instead of just replaced because it could be a problem. Once the battery light stayed on after they were changed that should have told you there was a different issue.

It could be something as simple as a blown fuse.
