Hi all,

It has been quite some time since I've posted anything in here. I am building the Ferrari 330 P2 from the Tamiya slot car body which I had purchased a few years back. I have never seen any P2 model kits so I decided that I need this in my stash.

This is what I got in the package.

It's not much so I must build all the other missing items to complete the car. Bear in mind that there is not much reference available on the 330 P2 in the internet so there will be a lot of inaccuracies and artistic licenses in this build.

I welcome any advise or comment to further make this build better. This will be an experiment and with the comments, additional references and guidance, I might be able to build a better one in the future (I have a few more of this in my stash).

First progress. I cut off those huge locating stubs on the body. I believe this is for the slot car chassis to be attached to. I remove it using photo etched saw, file and a lot of sandpaper.

I then remove the molded on interior which means I need to scratchbuild it.

Next is the interior work. Using plastic sheets, I started with the basic shape and other panels.

Next, I started on the dashboard. I am not sure of the actual meter cluster for this car, so I just used artistic license for this. Again plastic sheets is used to build it.

Test fitting the dashboard and interior. So far so good.

That's all for now. More update later.

Next progress

The air intake in this body is molded on so I remove it by first drilling some holes on the area and make the hole bigger using knife and cleaning it using file and sandpaper.

The same goes to the opening in the rear bonnet.

Looking back at the rear intake, the shape looks oversized and wrong somehow. I might need to cut the whole thing, replace with plastic sheet and make the correct intake shape.

Next is the seat. It's a simple shape but still, a challenge to do. It all started with a plastic sheet.

And at this stage, I am thinking whether I should cut the rear bonnet and put an engine in it.... and I did...
