(another) RB26 question

I pretty much think that the RB26DETT swap is the way to go, (f you have the money to do it of course) I've been told that an s14 240 can run mid to high 11's on just the stock engine, is that true?

Also the RB26 is so popular not because of its stock ability, but its potential to be upgraded to so much more. I know a few guys who have made this swap and surpassed 500hp. If the same engine mods/upgrades are performed on the RB26 in a 240sx as in a skyline, will the same power levels be achieved, or will some of this be lower in comparison. (In other words..for example..) If you take a 600hp RB out of a skyline and drop it into a 240, what will the difference be.

well I'm not exactly positive but since no one else has answered I'll take a stab at it

I believe a 240 is lighter than a skyline(don't scream about this if I'm wrong because I honestly don't know) and if it is then you would go faster with the same power obviously

I also highly doubt you'd run 11's on a stock engine, I would guess you'd get high 12's with a good driver but mostly low 13's would be my guess, but with some mods you should have trouble goin to low 12's

but I don't think you would lose power by moving it to another car

the 240 is lighter than the skyline by 300-500 pounds. With a 600 hp rb in the 240, i would guess somewhere in the 10's. probably mid-high 10's or so. I'm just guessing that because when duy ran his 10.83 run with the turbo KA he had approx 600 whp. so yeah, i'd say somewhere in the 10's.

a stock rb26dett should run a 12.0 or slightly better. a stock rb25det in a 240sx runs a 12.3 (that was confirmed by two rb240 owners on the boards...)

i think the 12.3 was run by S13GTR, the guy with the RB26DETT 240.
