2018 silverado head lamp issues

Lost a headlight last week, small crack in headlamp assy.
If you do not know it the headlight is in a circuit that operates transmission shifts.
Suddenly the truck would not come out of first gear
Replacing headlamp, assay, resulted in a repair bill of over 1700 bucks,
Yikes
