Recall and Lincoln/Ford won't fix it

Bought a 2009 Lincoln MKZ in 2014. Two weeks ago I got a check engine light (now light off) and got it scanned and codes P0018 and P0021 (Runs rough or misses) showed up. These codes are from a Recall (TSB 11-6-1) in May 31st of 2011 and should have been fixed before I was sold the car in 2014 and they were not and I was never told about them either. Does anyone know if I am in the right and Ford/Lincoln should fix these issues for free now if its a

A TSB is not a recall. A TSB is just a notification for what to do if a car comes in with the issue. You are on the hook for the repair.

I gotcha, but the dealship never told me about it when I bought the car.... Also is this issue something I can drive and not have to worry about my car breaking down on the side of the road??

Dealership is not required to tell you about a TSB. Again a TSB is only for diagnosis help once a car comes in with an issue.
As for if it will break down I can't answer that. It all depends.

Thanks for the knowledge... The check engine light was on, but now it went away and is stored in the computer, does that tell you anything since it went away like the odds of breaking down? Also will the car pass inspection with the code stored, but the check engine light gone?

Hey with the above problem, could I start getting worse gas mileage. All of a sudden this last couple weeks I am getting about 3 MPG less... Also I was thinking of using the Lucas Oil Fuel Treatment, could that help?? https://www.ebay.com/itm/LUCAS-OIL-10020-LUCAS-OIL-10020-FUEL-TREATMENT-5-25-OUNCE/352952186089?epid=11017009434&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item522d96f4e9:g:ntYAAOSwryheMVZ2&enc=AQAEAAACUBPxNw%2BVj6nta7CKEs3N0qU5m8HOu7vG%2Fl 5FzNXVvyTip5ZiH%2FeC%2BGrF%2F%2FwQf0CHSlXcrjjKPnAf 0PqxQobMbX9%2FRED6TiKKcQqIKf97mxA7A26CZql54rNHoqv% 2B%2FrPW4LA44iOsWgjrkzpbGVVHSa2%2B%2F5sZwO8CLakQpO AjxrU4QpkqAP%2FNj%2F17nqH3Sbe48B4ZpFWgjmfskvFIo1pH DVWF7gArb9eG2BUjp%2Bk37v90HRCkR7FolFLJokB1B5vc1alg I5xIQyurIKPyUcnqBTzW9LYEEpZSW7A6kipXOtqSam2kdZIILh MIo4iamo3bEUePGcdtYHGqskyWeOIbvCzvC%2BBSU0WLPl9bvW YIicv6fv89qBf6VhMFOSsuQ3NGCklpyZpp3pg3kWUBuNYmyMd3 TEo2vF5uwwdAq4rcqC7w2nT7zndaUSZ34wwdY4zfj2KhxyFyf% 2BbDlzktoGkYEHUO7cv4QD0kxnJCX8yUOZmgnPcFMtVU5OyPlt %2FoFkig8XwyvTFOZ3N0YHL23BAKoqy%2FS7H7wJnH4Xe8nx7G RIfqv0aPya4v2aMRj6xWA7TqPWzsSElvPxQAQpgRyHtH87WmcA FGNJH233QXagP7iP9hxlVG5ixoA9GIB7c8MJoF%2Fbod%2BtuO q5VAAIl6TGG2BpWZBo%2BLIKXGnJwa%2FvvFfL8wQJMViBnzoj draemF%2FsNjoCj96NAYyIKyV5nVQ7bDBwWdQpOMjzpgp%2F5L imqAM0onmDmS%2BFquH2u0bDkWrUitNdo79E7UscQPnbEDQstJ RQs%3D&checksum=352952186089b9904f1ef284492690ded93fb3a7e 5ab&enc=AQAEAAACUBPxNw%2BVj6nta7CKEs3N0qU5m8HOu7vG%2Fl 5FzNXVvyTip5ZiH%2FeC%2BGrF%2F%2FwQf0CHSlXcrjjKPnAf 0PqxQobMbX9%2FRED6TiKKcQqIKf97mxA7A26CZql54rNHoqv% 2B%2FrPW4LA44iOsWgjrkzpbGVVHSa2%2B%2F5sZwO8CLakQpO AjxrU4QpkqAP%2FNj%2F17nqH3Sbe48B4ZpFWgjmfskvFIo1pH DVWF7gArb9eG2BUjp%2Bk37v90HRCkR7FolFLJokB1B5vc1alg I5xIQyurIKPyUcnqBTzW9LYEEpZSW7A6kipXOtqSam2kdZIILh MIo4iamo3bEUePGcdtYHGqskyWeOIbvCzvC%2BBSU0WLPl9bvW YIicv6fv89qBf6VhMFOSsuQ3NGCklpyZpp3pg3kWUBuNYmyMd3 TEo2vF5uwwdAq4rcqC7w2nT7zndaUSZ34wwdY4zfj2KhxyFyf% 2BbDlzktoGkYEHUO7cv4QD0kxnJCX8yUOZmgnPcFMtVU5OyPlt %2FoFkig8XwyvTFOZ3N0YHL23BAKoqy%2FS7H7wJnH4Xe8nx7G RIfqv0aPya4v2aMRj6xWA7TqPWzsSElvPxQAQpgRyHtH87WmcA FGNJH233QXagP7iP9hxlVG5ixoA9GIB7c8MJoF%2Fbod%2BtuO q5VAAIl6TGG2BpWZBo%2BLIKXGnJwa%2FvvFfL8wQJMViBnzoj draemF%2FsNjoCj96NAYyIKyV5nVQ7bDBwWdQpOMjzpgp%2F5L imqAM0onmDmS%2BFquH2u0bDkWrUitNdo79E7UscQPnbEDQstJ RQs%3D&checksum=352952186089b9904f1ef284492690ded93fb3a7e 5ab

Colder temps and winter mix fuel will bring your fuel mileage down.

We have had cold temps for 2 months now and the MPG went down about 3 since my last fill up almost like I got bad gas or sucked something up bc I was on Empty.

It could be a bad batch of fuel. I had that happen once. I went from getting 22 mpg in winter to one tank it dropped to under 18 mpg and I actually ran out of gas due to overestimating the fuel I had left. On the next tank I was back to 22.

So like I previously said the check engine light was on for a week then it went away on its own. So does that mean it was just like a glitch or something? Also my guess is the car will pass inspection since the check engine light went away on its own, right?

It all depends. If they hook a scanner up to it they can see a pending CEL.

My buddy says that for inspections in NY state that they hook up a scanner. He also said that since it went away on its own it was like a "glitch" and that after a certain amount of times of starting you're car the CEL goes off the computer and is no longer stored. Anyone else
