I have an issue on an 08 f250 4x4. Almost positive its the hubs and an easy fix but I want a second opinion before buying parts. With the hubs in auto and the switch in 2wd the pickup has a hoppy feel during tight turns on pavement as if the hubs were locked. And when I need 4x4 i have to lock the hubs manually as auto seems to not work. Is it as simple a solution as replacing the hubs? Everything I've read says to get the warn manual hubs

It could be the vacuum lines to the hub engage/disengage could be blocked. I had that issue. Took off all the lines and blew them out. Amazing the amount of crap that can get in them. It could also be the vacuum switch. There was a problem with them mounted directly under where rain water drains and they shorted out.
Of course going to manual hubs is a permanent solution, you just have to go back to the old days of setting them every time.

Would having plugged vacuum lines make it so I have wheel hop while in 2wd as well?

From my understanding, the hubs default to being engaged. Then it takes the vacuum to dis-engage. Here's two links to YouTube videos on them:

That seems correct while in 2wd but when I move the switch to 4x4 I have to manually lock the hubs or there's no power to the front. Is it possible for the line to be backwards or something? I'm still thinking about just putting 100%manual warn hubs on
