Hi all-

Going to change the transfer case fluid and was wondering if it is ok to let Valvoline use their recommended fluid or if only the Trak II is ok to use? For the price, I'd rather just let Valvoline do it, but don't want that to bite me in the butt and will go get the Trak II and do it myself if I have to. Thoughts?

I'd stay with the Trac II fluid.
I was going to ask how your New Venture trans case is doing during the most recent thread but I forget things.
My Jeep Grand Cherokee requires a special power steering fluid and even though I can save several dollars with an allegedly ok alternative, I'm staying with the stock stuff.
With a drop in power, I replaced the fuel filter on my Bravada this afternoon, and stink like gasoline to prove it:eek7:

Thanks, Chris. That's what I'm going to do even though I'd rather be lazy and just pay Valvoline the $50 to do the job.

No new transfer case on this Bravada, still the original - maybe thinking of another poster?

The name of the transfer case is New Venture, a collaboration with GM & Mopar getting together for a computer controlled, in & out transfer case to save fuel.
The Borg-Warner transfer case with the viscous clutch on the '91-'97 was/is always engaged.

Ahh, got it. Didn't know that! When I originally bought it there was a shudder problem and it was back to the dealer a few times before they figured it out. It was then fine for several years and eventually developed the shudder again so I knew it was time for the case fluid to be changed and now it's been fine for years but now again has developed the tight turn shudder - so it's telling me to change the fluid

Congrats, evidently you have a good relationship with your Bravada.
