I would wait on your mechanic, man. My boy had that same thing happen and he tried to take the door apart and broke the whole f'n window!! I'm sure that it just needs re-aligned, not a big deal. But if you want to go at it yourself, you gots to bust that whole door apart. Wouldn't hurt to get some new rubber for it so it doesn't happen again. Did you try pushing up or down on the window while holding the button?? Just an idea.....

Sounds like its time for a window regulator & run channel

What's up DOC-50N...
I'm going to keep this short because I just got kicked off after I typed a few paragraphs....note to self: don't try to post when logged in under hotmail!
Anyhow...had the same problem and I took my car to Honda (I advise the same) and they told me that it could be a multitude of things but start simple....
They shot the guides with some silicone, put the window back on track, and I haven't had any problems since...it cost me like $17 bucks in labor ...no charge for the silicone...and he told me to about twice a year...and maybe more in cold/raily months... to give it a shot just to keep it "lubed" up....
keep it simple and cheap....

No worries DOC-50N...I try to help when I can and if it's cheap and simple...the better the fix.

Sounds like the teeth on the motor are worn, if the motor is turning even though the window isn't moving then this is the case. your speakers are attached to the door, not the door panel so you should be able to take it apart easily without damaging them....
