Hello,
I have a 1996 Eldorado ETC with 70K miles that vibrates when turning right at highway speeds. Does not when driving straight or left turn. It has new tires, alignment, right strut bearing. I can see no leaks or damage to CV Axles. I suspect the R/H, CV Axle is bad, but would like to confirm that it would be the right hand side axle (passenger side). Don't want to change the wrong CV Axle. Thanks for your help......Ellis479

Is there any torsional play in the CV joints of half-axles themselves? What about radial play where the half-axle enters the transmission housing?

I will check this out. Been trying to fix this issue for a while. CV Axle was my deduction. Seems like the right side would be the faulty one since it vibrates on that side when driving. Thanks Ellis

If you can jack up that side, have someone turn the steering wheel to that extreme, then grab the wheel and turn it by hand, you would get some binding or noise if it is bad, be safe of course.

Installed new CV Axles, This solved the vibration problem. Actually the driver side CV looked like it was getting hot by the color of the axle, anyway it fixed the vibration which was on the passenger side. The boots looked fine that's why nobody thought it was the CV's. Thanks for your help. Ellis479
