Timeout setting for interior lights?

Is there a setting for my LS 400 that I can have changed so that the interior lights go out after a few minutes if one of the doors is not closed completely?
Over the past few years, I have come out to find a completely dead battery because one of the doors was not closed properly. This is usually one of the grandkids. As the car had gotten older (it's a 1999), I think the rubber seals around the doors have become worn and may be getting in the way. I usually try to remember to lock it, because I get a warning if a door is left afar, bit sometimes I forget and then I have jump it.
Thanks,
