battery getting weak?

Ok I have a dimming going on of my headlights and my dash lights when I am braking lately - and although my car starts every time and has not had a dead battery - if this is a symptom of a weakening battery I would like to replace it before winter so I do not end up cold at the side of the road - I tried to see how old it was but the marking on it did not make any sense to me at the time I looked - I looked for loose connections but did not find any - :jerking:

Doubt it's a weak battery. The battery is really mainly for starting. Once the car is started the alternator does the majority of the work.

Well it must be a bad connection somewhere then - I know what it is like when your alternator goes - have been through that before and this is not like that at all :uhoh:

Those were the signs that you have a weak battery and should probably need to get your battery replaced. However, weak battery and a battery with loose terminals give off similar signs. I suggest you check it first and fix it by tightening them up and see if the problem goes away. If not, it's best to visit your trusted auto to diagnose and changed if needed. Hope this helps!
