How to track down a TSX K24a2 motor and find its history?

Hey guys, new to the forum and in need of help.. I am looking to buy a car with a K24a2 engine swapped into it. I have the vin, and was able to find out it came from a TSX that crashed in 2012. I want to verify that the seller bought the motor from the car, so how can I go about tracking the TSX down after it crashed? I know it was probably taken by an insurance company and brought to a junkyard or an insurance lot to be parted out. So how can I get this information? I want to find exact mileage on the motor and obviously find out who bought it. I dont want to spend $40 on a full carfax if it isnt going to give me the information I need... Thanks!
