Another one ticked off, this is a bit of a monster at 40cm in length. Was a lot of fun building this kit up. It required a bucketload of cleaning although was worth the efforts. I added a few extra wires here and there, a seatbelt set, and the rest was just OOB.

I am still keen on going back and giving the bottom of the tyres some 'tyre wrinkle' and then I will be happier with the final stance of the model. Was on a deadline for this build so it can be the subject of a magazine article to introduce people to scale modelling.

Comments and critique welcome!

I spend alot of time watching these front engine dragsters on Youtube, so I was very happy to see your model here. Very clean build and excellent subject matter.

I built this exact same car some time ago and also loved it. Our builds reflect the car as it looked in 71. Prior to 71 it had a polished metal blower intake and did not have the side canards (spoilers). During its racing career, the car was always seen with orange butterflies in the blower intake. There was a time in 1970 where the car had gold rear wheels and sometime black ignition wires. The car was retired in 1972 when Tony switched to the rear engine crowd. Tony retired from racing in 1976. In 2002 the car was found in Alaska by Tony who was on a quest to restore it. It made its official return debut in 2003 at the Cacklefest with Tony Nancy present (but not driving). After Tony's passing it was sold to a private collector.

The "Loner", November 14, 1933 to November 11, 2004..... RIP.

You have a real nice and clean build of the 1971 car, GREAT WORK and GOOD JOB!

Looks cool. About the only thing that always seem off on these types of models are front wheels. Do the spokes look like that in real life, or is this just poorly molded kit part? I wonder if somebody has aftermarket photoetched wheels or something.
Great work!
