i think that you should maybe flare the arches a little to give it a wider stance seeing as you have lowered the front and made it so aggressive.
in doing this you could even up the front wheel arch where the new front sits.
all in all top man for starting an ambitious project, and i know you can pull this one off, your work i have seen is great, so keep sanding and adding bits till you are happy.
people always try and put you down when u do better than them, i am backing ya all they way dude.

good luck and keep building:bigthumb:

Looks alot better when you sanded it... A wide body would set that mug off real well... Good luck and keep the updates coming!!!

07-04-2003, 02:07 PM
r u gonna make sideskirts?

i think u should put a sunroof, dual oval exhausts, a frenched license plate(i think thats what its called), wide body, and supra tail lights:biggrin:

Took the words out of my mouth. Supra tail lights on a widebody rear would make it look sweet. :bigthumb:

Does anyone have a pair of supra taillights (and housings for them from the model if possible) that I can have off a spare model? Cuz that sounds like an awesome idea especially with that real wide back

chaos
07-04-2003, 04:46 PM
Blown... is the bondo you are using easy to use, in terms of applying to the car and then sanding into shape? ANd have you used any other putty before? If so, how does this compare?

Blowncivic1320
07-04-2003, 05:19 PM
No, this is the only putty i have used...I put this stuff on with my finger and it sorta flattens itself down pretty good
it is a 2-part kinda thing, you put the main part then there is a little tube of hardener that gets mixed into it

also, should i do a cover over the back with the little lumps behind the seats like that orange WRX that vric's dad (i think) did?

lowcrome
07-04-2003, 10:36 PM
where can i get this putty?

how much is it?

did u make the widebody kit with just a pile of putty or a little bit of plastic underneath the putty?

appleseed
07-05-2003, 01:10 AM
that thing is pretty sweet!

i don't know about the putty you are using but please be careful about using your bare hands. i know polyester putty and especially automotive grade products have very harmful fumes. with that said, using your bare hands on such products is just not good sense. your work is terrific but i don't want you to get hurt using these kinds of products. i know, nag nag nag... but i just want to point this out since most of our younger members may not be aware of the dangers of such products. i just don't want anyone posting on this board that they got ill enjoying this hobby of ours due to improper use of products touted by members of our forum. anyway...

terrific job on the front end. i can't wait to see what you do the the rest of the kit:bigthumb:

I made the widebody with jus piles of bondo...
also my dad owns a bodyshop and I asked him and he said there shouldn't be anything wrong with putting it on with my hands...

Also...Anyone have supra taillights?

bah humbug
07-05-2003, 10:10 AM
It looks like you took the lower end of the front from a stock S2000.

Am I right?

I'm guessing you took it from that SAS project.

Holy shit !!!

When I first saw your thread about making this already cool car in a street-tuner crossover-thing , I was a bit :frown:  ??? WTF ...

But as the process went on, Man, I absolutely love what you're doing to it!

Bloody gorgeous!
Oh, maybe one comment though... Try to keep the upper one grill a bit more mini-ish... or even closed?? maybe some one with Photoshop could help you with a quick preview, I think It would look killer !

I thought this was going to look like crap at first, But I like it alot.

you do realize that the convertible scooby that was posted here used a modified cover from the saleen, not just putty.

Blowncivic1320
07-06-2003, 03:19 PM
Yeh i dont have that tho

chrismcgee
07-07-2003, 03:12 AM
if a convertible might be hard, why not go the way of my 350z, and go targa top!!! or a T bar roof, that would look cool!

Blowncivic1320
07-07-2003, 10:06 AM
The way the windows and the roof are on it...it mite be sorta hard to make targa or anything...i decided not to do the cover over the back seats also because it is too much of a pain. If anyone has the saleen backcover i could have then i miite think of doing it

chrismcgee
07-07-2003, 10:27 AM
why not go completely over board and create a jaguar style single seat racer!!!!! only enough space for the driver and the controls, but do it with a maclaren twist by putting it all in the centre of the car, making the little cooper look like a custom racer.

call me mad but that would be wickid as a test of skills, and you seem to have quite a few projects on the go anyway!!!!!!!!! why not try it.
