Dealer wonít sell me loaner car?

I am looking for a very specific car that is hard to find. Iím set on specific color and model and willing to wait for it, however, a local dealer supposedly has exactly what Iím looking for but itís currently being used as a loaner for their service dept. I was told this by their sales dept. I asked if I could see it and he said ďit wonít be ready for sale for 2 or 3 more monthsĒ I then asked, if you have a buyer seriously interested, why wouldnít you sell it and just replace the loaner with something else? He said because they donít have a comparable one available to give to service dept.

This just seems really weird to me... Assuming this car is what he says it is, I would buy it this week... but they are willing to let me walk because they are using it as a loner? 🤔.

Should I go over the sales guy head and ask to speak to the floor manager about it? And yes, now Iím wondering if this loaner even really exists...

Appreciate thoughts and advice

Dealers probably get special discounts on certain cars from the factory. That loaner car is one. If they paid less for it they would have to wait until another factory deal comes on a similar car l.

Automotive dealers wait for how to get the best price on a car deal (, once they get the deal they have two option- pass on the benefits to the customer or keep it to self. If someone is knowing the insider secrets of these deals he can surely help you out in getting the best price deal on a new car.
