1996 jeep grand cherokee electrical problem

i have a 1996 jeep grand cherokee laredo. i let my roomate use the cigarette lighter to charge up an air compressor. came out later that day and my jeep wouldnt start. noticed a clicking noise in the fuse box under my glove box. put a charger on my pattery overnight. tried it again but just cranks once or twice then nothing. ive located the possible fuses that could be causing the problem but its still not working. please help

Have you tested your battery?
Both static and cranking?
Have you tried a jump start?

I pulled the battery out charging it now. It wont crank just the starter clicks. Hoping its just a battery on its last leg.
