1/20 Mercedes AMG W06 Hybrid-2015 World Champions

Hi, it's been a loog time since my last post and i want to share with you my recent work. It's a Mercedes AMG W06 Hybrid driven by Lewis as world champion winner.
The kit is a multimedia kit from monopost, and i did some modifications. I changed the exhaust and used thin metal rods and tubes to make the antennas . And some aero parts are made thinner. Also the black area on the head rest is made by masking, where decal did include this part..And also the black colour decal on the engine cover did not have the right shape so i literally spray that black colour to the body.
It's finished early this year, and then I took this to a hobby contest in Hobby expo china 2017 but unfortunately won nothing :( .

Yes indeed... :( The results of the contest was fully decided by audiences's votes and not by judges, still lot of fun and great chance to communicate with some modelers. But most of the time in a contest here, automotive vehicles, trucks, motorcycles, trains, construction machineries, non-military dioramas, and some times commercial jets are always in the same category competing for one winner..

Thanks mate. I'm actually planning to do so but at current stage it's a little bit too much for me. The cost of the trip, both time and money, and how to keep the model safe during the long journey, all bring challenges. I hope in the future I can really have a changce to enter one of contests and more importantly to feel the atmosphere, see the finest models and conmunicate with model builders.

Open wheel modeling is a small niche and seems to be looked down by a lot of people. Do not be discouraged because this is a really great job. You did great work and it really shows.

Looks really incredible to me! The more you look the more little details you find and it's all super cleanly built. Very, very well done! Yes, that's the only problem with "popular vote" type of contests is rarely does the best model win.

Thanks mate! I think maybe it's easier for the organizer of the contest to just go with popular vote rather than inviting some professional judges.
