2001 Buick Lesabre P0446

2001 Buick Lesabre Custom, Check engine light came on error code p0466 ( EVAP Canister purge vent blocked),when code is erased car will run for awhile then shut down while driving down road,but will restart.If I leave check engine light on and don't erase code, car will run ok without shutting down while driving.Is this the actual EVAP canister purge vent problem or something else ?
