Ok I have ask this before

and I have had the race EX

but it was a dumb light race where you dont know if you want to race or not

But really what will win only talk 1/4 mile and dont give me that dumbass HP shit

If you are going to say HP also add weight
and other shit

so what you think will win 1999 Honda Civic DX CX EX or HX

I'd put my money on the HX, can't go wrong with a CVT :bigthumb: Other than a really good driver you can't get any better, it may be an Automatic but it's the most efficient tranny out there.

CVT = Continuous Varible Transmission

It's great to have infinite gear ratios :bigthumb:

After adding all the "shit" I'll go with the EX

07-06-2003, 07:56 PM
cx......light, same power as dx, all the other cars can have mod's just put an ex tranny on the cx and it'll still beat all *mods like i/h/e gay ebay chip....whatever those guys do to their cars*

doesnt the EX have more power than all of them tho? even with the weight thing, I know a kid who had a 98 EX coupe with I/E and another with a 97 LX sedan with exhaust and even though the coupe is a bit lighter it isnt that much lighter and felt lots faster.

BUT MAYBE WITH SO MUCH WEIGHT OFF OF THE cx IT MIGHT BE UP WITH THE ex. (sorry , caps lock sucks)

I have a CX but never got to drive it with the crap D15b2, but I bought a wrecked 92 LX sedan and it was stock 5 speed, had a D15b2 put in they got from japan and it was quick but felt nothing like an EX

civicHBsi91
07-07-2003, 04:59 PM
power isnt everything and driving skill would also fall into place, ive taken out cars in a stock 93 lx that killed newer and same year ex's alot of people cant drive but were talkin about the 99's and the cx with proper driver would win

but who cares lol the threads dead

My friend and I both have '00 black civics, mine's a DX hatch and his EX coupe would take me by a few feet every single time, and yes I know how to launch and spin through the gears.

Redrunner
07-08-2003, 09:49 PM
yes but was it a 1/4 mile or more only talkin 1/4 mile

Ricochet
07-09-2003, 08:51 AM
We would get up to about 70mph or so, and he had the lead the entire way... If an EX is faster than a DX hatch it's definitly faster than the heavier coupe.

:iagree:

buddy has a 94 civic dx 5 speed, an he can BARELY take a 7th gen civic ex auto. an this guy can drive his car as well...so...from wut i've seen, an jus the set-up of the cars...ex is the quickest.

CX=DX without radio, hubcaps, and metal spoiler thing. Same engine and everything though. Back in the day they had 1.5 liters of Geo-eating power

Redrunner
07-11-2003, 01:56 PM
The DX does not have a spoiler
also the dx coupe weights about 30 lb less then the hatchback

lol 30 whole lb thats like 2 or 3 secs faster right  :dogpile: :dogpile:

(lol for people that take shit to the head that was just a joke)

Wow a whole 5 pounds lighter because it doesn't have hubcaps and speakers. The amound of dust on the car would make almost the same difference.

I was talking about the hatchback, that little thing the brakelight on the back of the car is on. It's metal on the DX, plastic crap on the CX. And where the hell did you get those numbers from about the coupe being lighter than a hatchback? 30lbs will not give you a 2-3 second lead! Are you fucking retarded?

civicHBsi91
07-11-2003, 02:14 PM
its alot more than 5 pounds and its alot more than just hub caps and speakers

Ricochet

I'd rather be beaten by .000001 seconds by a CX than forfeit my radio.

they have radios smart guy

Ricochet

Not standard, but for a few hundred bucks you can add one as an option smart guy.

http://www.menacespeed.com/2000civichatchbackpage1.html

00 CX manual Hatchback 2359lbs
00 DX manual Hatchback 2388lbs

The DX weighs 29lbs more, comes with a radio (Accessory for the CX), and comes with a Rear Roofline Spoiler. The dimensions, tires, hp/tq, and everything is the exact same except for these two. So yes, if two people with exact driving skills, weighing the exact same, with two cars of exact wear and tear were to race, the CX would win by a hair. The guy in the DX would be listening to his radio while racing though. So I guess I stand corrected on the weight difference, but which would you rather have? It doesn't matter to me anymore, I have a nice ctr engine now :)

civicHBsi91
07-11-2003, 06:02 PM
now a guy with a cx hatch can get a ctr engine and still win by a hair :thefinger

Type R would own you, so maybe you should swap.
By the way, a 2000 DX coupe is maybe par with your 110hp 1990 Si so you shouldn't talk... unless you have a 99-00 Si engine.

yea it's kinda funny how i can run a faster 1/4 than him and his type RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and he ran a 16 sec 1/4 with the motor and i still don't see how you can go that slow unless you really suck at driving cuase my first run with my new motor on a 1/8th mile track was a 10.1 and then i put the header on and ran 10 flat and haven't gotten too much faster since then. i guess my motor is easy to get used too since it's not type R!! :loser:

I saw a website where a kid had a 89 i think crx with just ZC and ran 15.5 or something, I dont know how to convert the 1/8th to 1/4 mile times, but I remember it as he only got in 2 runs i think, how many did you get? I went with my hatch and ran like a 17.1 or so the first time, then a 16.8, 3rd tried something different and F'ed up and ran a 16.9, 4th run ran a 16.6. it took me 4 runs and i dropped almost a half a second. with some more practice I couyld probably hit a 16.4 maybe. and then if I had a good running engine id probably hit 15's.

also, ricochet, was your 16.1 with the stock dx exhaust?

KrNxRaCer00
09-05-2003, 08:50 PM
a 10 second flat 1/8 mile equates to AROUND 15.2-5 depending on your top end.

don't give him such a bad time, he admit he didn't drive it well, arguing and bickering about it on the web isn't going to do anyone well at all.

94tegRS
09-05-2003, 09:13 PM
well, if it seemd like i was giving him a hard time, i wasnt, trying to defend him a bit, saying it took me 4 runs to get even a decent time in the car.

95civicman
09-06-2003, 01:00 PM
since i swapped the motor i've made around 6-7 runs, and the only reason i said anything is because this guy is a prick and makes fun of other people and thinks he's better than everyone because he had someone put a type r motor in his hatch, he reminds be of the lil rich kids around here, at least that's how he comes off too me. oh yea i ran that in the middle of summer so when the temps come down i'll prolly be running around 9.7 9.8 but that won't matter cuase my turbo gsr hatch will be up and running around then hopefully

Totally stock EX (127 hp, 107 ft/lb) would win against a totally stock DX (108 hp, 103 ft/lb), CX (108 hp, 103 ft/lb), or HX (115hp, 104 ft/lb).
