1996 4 runner no fire

I have a 1996 4 runner v6 it's got 194000 and I have no fire to the engine I've checked the timeing belt it's not broken or anything so when turn the engine over it sounds like it's not getting any compression so I took the skid plates off and there is a wiring harness that comes off the positive side of the battery and it goes to the fuse boxand the starter my question is in the center of the wiring harness there are 2 square plugs that plug to a bracket in front of the oil pan now the left side is broken and the right side was unplugged is this significant or is it a stud question this is my first 4 runner and I don't know anything about it does these plugs power that harness some how any suggestions will help thanks .
