Ticking when attempted to start. Checked the battery, good. Tried to start again. Ticked once. Didnt mess with it. Months later, charged battery, same thing. Replaced starter and charged the batt again. When I turn the key get the tick, however my gages then shake until the battery is out of juice (maybe 25 seconds). Ignition switch, line fuse, ground. Where do I start? Appreciate any assistance.

25 secs on the battery attempting to start? Your battery is toast. Unless you measure the voltage while trying to crank or take it to any auto parts store that will do a load test. Just getting 12v while sitting is no test.

After the tick I turn the key back off, then my guages shake until the battery dies. Battery is less than a year old.

Doesn't matter if it's 1 day old. Unless you test it properly you are just guessing.

thanks for posting back. At least you didn't start throwing parts at it.
