Dodge makes the best cars. Hands down. You should see what my Grand Caravan can do. I don't know much more about the 2002 models but having driven one I can say that it is a very nice ride, very smooth.

You will be disappointed with the 4.7, it's underpowered. Even the 5.2L lacks pulling power. Now the HEMI is sweet, very powerful. 5.9L is the minimum you want, the HEMI is 5.4L.
In 2WD the RAMS have like no traction, but stick it in 4 and you can go anywhere. I don't know why that is, but it just is. My brother has a 2002 2500 Cummins turbo diesel 6 speed and he can go anywhere. That thing is a beast. Either the 5.9 or 5.4 HEMI are the only reliable engines, I've heard stories about the 4.7 and the 5.2.

speeder94,

But what mods have you done to your Z71? The hemi I can guarantee you isn't modded at all since almost nothing is out for them. I'd have to call BS if you say you ran a 14.1 stock.

Also, what engine do you have? I think stock for stock the newer 5.3L is the only one that can come close to the stock Hemi. An 02 5.3L 2wd beat me pretty darn good... but of course I'm a QC 4x4 Hemi with 35" tires. I'm sure a stock 4x4 5.3L wouldn't have faired so well.

I bought a new 02 Quad Ram 4.7 auto. in June of last year. Loved the truck but after 8 shop visits for different things, mostly an irratic idle problem, I dumped it for a 99 Ram Quad 318. The 4.7 had a lot of power, a lot quicker, and got better mileage (and sounded like the Dodge muscle cars of the late 60's/early 70's) compared to my 99. The dealer flashed the computer but never fixed it and I got tired of fighting them. And the 1-800 customer service is a joke. The rep told me "It sounds like I've just got someone who wants to argue" when I called about the idle problem so I cussed him and hung up. I miss the truck but NOT the problems.
