RENAULT CLIO ETOILE 16V Acceleration problems

Hi All,
new to the forum and I’ve had a look around and can’t find anything similar that can help me
we have a
RENAULT CLIO ETOILE 16V
2000-2001, 1390cc,
5 door hatchback,
Manual, Petrol
We have a problem that when we are accelerating the power just drops off and need to lift off the accelerator and then slowly press the pedal down to get the power back this doesn’t always work however
we don’t have any warning lights coming on and we have had it plugged at a garage and they have said that no fault codes are coming up, it doesn’t have a problem starting at all although the revs are sometime low so have to put foot on the gas. it has recently had a full service as well.
