When I took a turn today the engine suddenly lost compression, started sputtering loudly and the engine light came on. My Bosch code reader said P300 multiple random misfires. Where should I start to ID the problem? Thanks in advance. -CLL

I would start by checking the distributor cap, rotor then ohm plug wires should be around midpoint on the meter, check plugs.
If this is good check for a partially plugged injector.

No distributor cap or wires on these, they use COPs.

My gut tells me this has something to do with the PCM, or the connection to the PCM. It is under the dash on the driver side, there is a 10mm bolt that holds the harness onto the PCM. Remove this bolt, which pulls the harness off, then reinstall / tighten the bolt and see if your issues go away.
