Power steering pulley. Left handed nut?

I will be rebuilding my power steering pump on 4 cylinder 1999 Accord. YouTube videos show left handed nut for the previous generation (1997). Is it the same left hand nut on my 1999?

The newer pumps, according to YouTube, have a normal right hand rotation.

Sam

Look at the way the pump spins when the engine is running. To loosen is generally the opposite of that.

Regards,
SamYes, that what I thought. If look from the driver side the engine rotates counterclockwise. So to unscrew it I should go clockwise.

Thank you,
Sam

WRONG!

The thread is normal. To tighten turn clockwise, to remove turn counterclockwise.

If it is a normal counterclockwise bolt then the pump spins clockwise. Otherwise you'd have the potential for the bolt to back itself out.

I'll ask the obvious. Are you facing the pulley?

I'll ask the obvious. Are you facing the pulley?Yes I am standing at the driver side looking at the pulley.

Instructions for the timing belt installation tell me to rotate the engine counterclockwise. So I figured out that that is the normal engine rotation. To tell the truth I do not remember how it rotates when running.
