problem fast blinkers

i read somewhere that to get fast blinkers all you have to do is cut the ground for both corner lights.. so i did... it works fine with the lights are on (high beams or not) but when the lights are off, only the driver's side corner blinks fast, the passenger side blinks at normal speed.

I have a 93 civic dx hatchback

I'm thinking it might be because I pluged my tach light and gauge power into my light switch so they come on when I turn my lights on but how can that mess it up? could it be because my gauges and my tach back light has their own grounds?

Cutting your grounds is never a good idea. Go get some Red L.E.D. 1156 lights for your tail turn signals. Those L.E.D. lights blink hella fast. It makes your front blink hella fast too. There you go hella fast blinkers all the time, grounds still intact. I know this becuase when I bought the Red L.E.D. lights, they did this. I hated it, so I returned it for normal 1156's, cuz I personally hate the fast blink.

The reason the LED bulbs blink so quickly is because they draw very little current compared to normal bulbs. This in turn tricks your car into thinking that a bulb is burnt out, which is why they blink so fast. You can buy load equalizers and that will take care of the fast blinking problem. But if you want them to blink fast, just slap some LED bulbs in and you're good to go.

Everyone has their opinions. So I respect yours if you think fast blinkers are gay.. but it'd be nice if you could contribute something else other then a helpless comment like that. It's just something different for me to have fast blinkers... as for these leds where can i get them? Would having other stuff connected to my light switch affect the signals?

that was by no means a helpless comment... he stated that cutting grounds is not a good idea (he's right) and he told you a way to get the fast blinkers if thats what you wanted... sounded helpful enough to me

cutting ground wires is a bad idea... they are there for a reason

An Auto parts store like Autozone or Baxters should have LEDs. Just get the proper one for your socket. It'd be easiest to get, say, an 1156, put it in the 2 rear turn sockets, and that would trickj your car into thinking the lights are burn't out, so all the blinkers will flash rapidly. All you need to do it put the LED's in and there you go, it's done. It won't affect headlights, brakelights, etc in this set-up, it will just blink the turn signals rapidily like they are burnt out (because the car thinks they are).

Sorry I didn't state which comment was useless... i'm just tired of people replying with "thats gay" I'm thankful for every other comment though... if you think it's dumb or gay then thats your opinion... posting it is just a waste of bandwidth
