Racing cavalier motor swap

Hey guys i race my 1998 caviler at our local short track our rules state that dual overhead cam is not allowed so we run the 2.2 with shaved heads and other stuff done to it we are a front running car every week. but there is going to be a race held at Bristol were there are no limitations on what the motor can be or what can be done to it so we are thinking of building a 2.4 with a 5 speed does any body know how difficult the swap would be, or if we could use the same trans thanks thanks for any lintel
