2001 Silhouette- Gas gauge trouble

Hey everyone, thanks in advance for any help.
My fuel gauge sits around 3/4 or a tank until right before I run out of gas. Sometimes with a full tank of gas it will go up past the 3/4 mark, but not reliably. Does this sound like I need to replace a part? Any help troubleshooting this would be greatly appreciated.
