Lower Engine Mounts replacement

Hey fellas,

I would like to replace the lower engine mounts on my 00' GP. I noticed the engine would vibrate severely when in reverse. I've already changed the upper mounts which didn't improve the engine vibration much. Since working on my vehicle for some time I am aware of the passenger-side mount is badly worn.

What are the steps or procedure on replacing the lower engine mounts? I know the first thing is lifting up the engine.

The engine is supported by the transaxle on the driver's side which in turn sits on a mount. I replaced the mounts when I had engine out so can't you offhand how to replace just the mounts. For the passenger side mount, I suspect that removing the upper mounts and slightly lifting engine would give enough clearance to replace the mount but be extremely careful in making sure the engine is securely supported to avoid injury. The transaxle mount was in much better shape than the other on my car. You should be able to inspect it from driver wheel well.
