Hello all
I would like to present to you a model Mitsubishi LAncer EVO VI WRC from 41 Rallye San Remo 1999 which Tommi Mäkinen - Risto Mannisenmäk win this rally.

I built this model based on Tamiya, decals its MSM Creation, spare wheel its MF-Zone and photoetch is Crazy Modeler and Scale Motorsport

Hello,

Nice nuilds.
I have the same '99 San Remo decals in stock, glad to see the result. How did the decals behave?

As a matter of fact, I just started the 2001 Monte-Carlo version, would you mind post more pictures of your build, and give a feedback about the front bumper? Which transkit did you choose?
I have 4 different ones, and I'm not sure which one to choose, none of them is perfect!

Thanks!

Hello

Decals 99 San Remo from MSM Creation in my case was a terribly poor quality and while applying burst - somehow I managed to put them, but if I had the opportunity to do it again I would have bought another manufacturer decals

Unfortunately I have no pictures from the construction of version 2001 - interior and chassis model is built very similar to the version 1999 - when it comes to the front bumper that I used transkit of MF-ZONE - decal is Shunko. The installation of the bumper is quite embarrassing because you have to convert the chassis model at the tap near the radiator - it requires multiple trying them but as you can see it can be done.

Flawless job(s) !

I also have these MSM decals. I rarely see positive comments about them :(

I like your work but sincerely so heavy panel lines it's just ugly !!
your panel lines really are off-scale, it's like if there was a rubber line between panels !! :frown: :frown:
Also rims are not correct for 1999 SR, they used 10 spokes rims on stages (used 5 spokes only for pre-rally testing) according to all my references (I have this one to build too)

thanks for your answer and links !
indeed they used the 5 spokes rims... of course all of my reference pics are from other stages !! :eek7:

for the panel lines did you consider deepen them before painting ?
if they are deep enough it's maybe not needed any more to paint ;)
it's not an easy task of course... especially around Windows...

your models are really nice anyway and only a expert sight from pics would notice it, in real it must be less visible.

Maybe he is right but I think he could have been more tactful.

I think you did a good job over all and I'm sure next time you can fill the panel lines a little to make them narrower.

I like the finish if the decals and paintwork elsewhere. A nice pair of cars over all though :)

You're welcome
I have only one photo and in addition the car Loix where the wheel spokes 5 - only in the movies, I found that the car Makinen also rode on the rim

As I said this is my biggest problem to do it well, but try as I

One of the things I should do it again this photo model, because those that are not reflective of the beautiful red color which I did.

you could also eventually consider not to use black (which does not forgive anything) but dark red when body is painted in bright red. :thinkerg:

I know panel lines aren't easy to perfectly do. I can't myself :icon16: :cwm27: oopss.... :cwm27: :cwm27:
