i just bought my Apexi N1 Universal Muffler for my 90 CRX, and getting it installed on Monday. Which pipings should i have them use? Also, should i have it just come out straight through or have the Muffler Angled?

...go with 2 1/4" to retain some back pressure

Get your muffler straight, I cant stand the look of a "crooked" muffler... shit just dont look right.

marked001, you might want to do a search for "exhaust gas velocity" or "delta pressure"

back pressure is always bad. you want 0 backpressure.

Go with 2.25'' piping.

I think they look retarded when they are coming out sideways.

I dont think you have a choice wheter you want it to come out sideways or not.the muffler shop will tell you that if you actually wanna gain HP it has to be like that.

they told me i can have it angled if i wanted. Not sure if i want it angled though. or have the exhaust come out the same place where the stock muffler was at.

well my shop told me that either put it this way(no it doesnt effect the bumper) or at an angle, since its too long to position straight back on the left side(the axel and suspension is in the way) so i just put it this way.

I agree with crxlvr, get a straight-pipe. I have it on my car and its alot better sounding. also no back pressure :naughty: u can see the under belly of my car which shows the piping on my exhaust here....

whatever you do, DO NOT get your muffler crooked, and crx hf, think of all the bends you have in the piping going back to your muffler, you really think that having the muffler point one way you will get HP and one way you wont? and to whoever thinks that it looks good sideways, go get a catscan. I see some really nice cars go buy, and then they either just put a muffler on their stock tailpipe so it looks cool and it comes out like down and left dnd right there it ruins the entire car, or they chose to have it look like that which is even worse. I saw a new MR2 and I dont kow of they sell this setup but it was 2.25" or 2.5" piping all the way back and then it go to the back and there was no room for a muffler coming straight out, but it was a TINY muffler, looks liek he took a normal length muffler, and right where the incoming pipe enlarges to the size of the can, cut there, and then towards the outlet about 6 or 7 inches back on the can he cut it, and welded it back together and had a muffler less than a foot long with the tip included.

All i have to say is make sure you get a resonator other wise you will not be able to rev pass 2000 without make alot of noise and i mean alot of noise and not a deep sound but a louad tinny sound like a coffee can muffler.

how much u think it'll cost to get a resonator installed? the place where i got mine from did not install a resonator.

BigBearWest
