I'm not petrified of them, but I will admit to having a great disdain for the things. I went to get my flu shot last night, and my stupid arm still has that achy feeling like someone gave you a charlie horse where you got the injection...
I just wanted to see how many of you are in the same boat as me...

I fear the slightest pain. Needles especially! The worst are the novacaine shots you get before dental work.

Im afraid of snakes, and a spider crawling near me will result in a girlish shreek, cause im scared as hell of them, yet i am not bothered by blood and needles and stuff like that. In fact, I usuially instead of turning my head when they give the needle, I usuially watch it, and IV's dripping into my arm seem cool too.
ya, i know, im a freak :bloated:

While I'm not a fan of needles, I'd much prefer to have my blood drawn than get a shot. I jumped half way across the room when I had to get my Tetanus booster. But, if I need to get my blood drawn back home, no problem. What makes it worth it? A hot phlebotomist. Hehehe...who smells great too. ;)

Nope, don't bother me at all. It is what is in it that worries me.

I'm not afraid of getting shots or needles in general but I don't want anyone taking any blood from me, I just don't like seeing my blood being sucked into a little tube or bag it just ain't right.

Needles don't bother me. Neither do IV's or blood tests. I'm pretty cool with blood. I've gotten so many bloody noses and cuts that seeing blood all over my clothes and hands doesn't bother me. Sick I know, but it just doesn't bother me. Go fig!

Can't say I love them, but the only ones which I really really hate, are those at the dentist. Needles do not belong in gums. Not in my gums, anyway. That is just nasty painful! And then when they pump in the anaesthetic........... :help:

It's strange, blood and stuff doesn't bother me, but the needle itself terrifies me. I have a fear of sharp objects. knives, needles, saws, anything sharp and I get like "get it away from me!!" But that's it, nothing else scares me. not snakes, hights, spiders, death, pain, ghosts, nothing. just needles. I had to be restrained and blindfolded to get my tetnis shots. Iand I have NEVER given blood.
strange eh?
strange eh?

Needles and blood don't bother me, but I can't watch surgery. I can't watch any of those ER shows on Discovery Channel and TLC. It's not that I get sick, I just get terribly uncomfortable.

Hehe. Entertaining television, eh mate? I pass those once in a while on telly, yes very uncomfortable. And that's why I'll never be a surgeon.
Blood? No problem.
Needles? Aaahh!! :crying:  Deathly afraid I am (well not quite).
As for snakes  :crying: , only small ones just because I'm afraid they'll climb into my orifices and bite my finger. Plus they're quick and too small to grab easily. Not the big ones, just the small ones. Strange, huh?

I'm horrified of snakes and spiders. Don't care about the snake venom, just the actual bite. I hate needles too. I'll get them, and they don't really scare me, but I hate them. I passed out once when I needed a blood test. You should try passing out sometime...then instead of just 1 sucker, you get 2, plus orange juice and cookies, while you recline in a lazy-boy with a damp facecloth on your forehead and fan blowing on you :D:D
Dentist needles scare me though. I've had 2 in my right bottom gum before, and one in the roof of my mouth (even worse!). They hurt like hell, you can't yell or say ow because then you move your mouth, screw up the needle and cause more pain, all you can do is make noises from your throat and shake your arms and legs madly. I hate the dentist altogether. She always tells me stuff I already know like brush 3 times a day and floss 3 times a day too. Not like it makes a difference.
Ever have a tooth clamp on before? They used this wierd thing to keep my mouth open which sucked, then they put this clamp down on my tooth uncomfortably tight. I had to have a baby tooth that wouldn't come out pulled before. The needle didn't work so I had to deal with the pain. Then the tooth crumbled (which hurt badly) and she sqeezed the nerves (which hurt 20 times more). Another time, while drilling a tooth, the drill slipped and my gum was drilled into a bit. Talk about a scream! Geez I hate the dentist.....

I am not afraid of them now, but when I was a little kid I was really afraid of them I would crawl in a corner in the doctor's office and refuse to let anyone near me. The doctor and my parents would get tired and I would go home without a shot.

I had to get have a blood test at Ascot hospital in Greenlane last month I honestly could not look, I felt faint when I saw my own blood in that Syringe, it was dark purple rather than red, which is what I thought it would look like, it was a first time for me though and I suppose if you have them reguarly, then they are allright

I don't mind blood either. I have no problem slicing myself open to take out a spinter or anything.
