Power steering issue

Started the GP and was turning the steering wheel which was hard to turn. It then began to whine loud when turn left and right. Looked under car and it dumped a lot of fluid on the driveway. I couldn't find the leak but I filled it back up with power steering fluid and it's not leaking that I see. It's not making the whining sound when turning the wheel. Thoughts?

My guess is there is a leak on high pressure side that opens only when pressure is high and in certain positions. For example, flexing in the line might squeeze as cracked hose shut in some positions (no leak) and open in other (leak). Temperature may also influence leak vs. no leak. Likely suspect is high pressure line but could be pump or possibly low pressure hose.

Try wiggling hoses with engine running and warm and wheels in various positions. Take care not to get burn... Wear gloves and consider uses a tool to do reaching and moving.

Must be. I refilled it and drove 22 miles to work. Sat in parking lot turn wheel left to right and not one drop on the ground. No pump whining either.

Inspect the return line/cooler assembly too. When the crimped fittings between the metal and rubber sections fail, they will start to suck air. It won't leak on the ground because it's on the suction side, but it will cause the fluid to start to foam. Each time you park it the foam dissipates and air is trapped. When enough air gets trapped, it gets forced through the lines compressed. When that happens, the fluid will puke all over the place, and over time after re-filling, it will happen again.
