I need help
My Mom's 88 Corolla LX has been constantly abused by so-called "mechanics" Her last repair was for constant "stuttering" while accelerating. It is now summer and she can no longer turn on the AC because when she does, the car has no power to accelerate. I mean there is a NOTICEABLE lack of acceleration compared to last year. It feels like she's towing a B747 down the road when the AC is on. The only way she can enter a highway is by turning off the AC. This happens when accelerating after street lights, stop signs ..etc. Is there anything I should check? Is there a way to reset the ECU ? Would this help?
Thanks

Cafa,
need more info...
what happens if you turn on the a/c while car is parked? does it stall or idle rough? do rpms drop considerably (250+ rpm difference)?
Also what was the cause of "stuttering" as diagnosed by the mechanics? was anything replaced?
