Great, something fun to build in two or three years.

I've already built this kit in resin a long time ago (Reji models) but I didn't make the best job of it and I'll definitely look forward to this release so I can have another bash at it. One of my favourite rally cars of the Group 'B' era!!

Most awaited rally car ever (Although not my favourite. Nevertheless I'll buy a pair or two :) ) ! Beemax is spot on for every new release, I want them all !

The Profil 24 kit is very nice and although it's not really expensive for what's in the box, it's still way more than a plastic kit. Personally I would rather have any given kit in plastic, mainly because of the cost, but also I prefer to work with plastic not multi-media.
As for the Beemax kits taking a while to come to fruition, well that's true. I waited and waited for the Celica TA64, but when it arrived I wasn't disappointed, it's a really nice, well thought out kit. At the minute only Beemax are offering us any of these classic rally models, so they should be praised for answering our wish lists, because Tamiya and Hasegawa have long stopped making any new rally or race car models. I don't mind waiting for the kits as long as we get them in the end. If Beemax is reading this please consider the Lancia Delta S4 and the Ford RS200 as future subjects. These two have long been overlooked, but would make great subjects in 1/24...

Of course, I even bought it at the time. But for that price I can have 4 or 5 Beemax kits. Ok, they're curbside kits, but the shape will certainly be more accurate because the Profil kit is far from being perfect.

I agree, Profil24 kit is not really good, don't be misleaded by the details level !
overall shape is... "strange" (!?!) with a crushed-like model, the rear under is false, and what about the roll cage molded Inside the body... like the cooling hoses...! :sly: :eek7: :crying:
a Plastic kit 4/5 times cheaper even if either not perfect would be a good (better) deal.
I just hope the Profil24 205 T16 IS perfect !! :grinyes: :grinyes: (at least this one, pleaaaaaaasssssse !!)

It looks good although the build seen on their website is not top level. The price is instead top level ! :crying:
Now that plastic gr.B are coming along, shall I take the risk to buy an expensive resin kit ??

Lancia S4 next please!!!!
Sure :)
And a Ford RS200 and a Metro 6R4 and a R5 Maxi...
Just a small effort and we're done :)
I don't think Citroën BX and Visa could sell well.

I'm sure it could !! BX already sold well at Profil24. and there was so much liveries on a Visa, it was a so popular car at that time... and most of all it's a group B !!

I think it is hazardous to draw conclusions on the sales figures (120-150 pces ?) of a resin kit (that was never re-released by Profil, in contrast with the Delta, Audi and Metro that were reissued once or twice).
Of course I would buy them in plastic form because I am also a real group B aficionado, but honestly I doubt they would sell thousands of them ;)

I don't especially draw conclusions from a resin kit sale (or in this case why counting with a reissue so ? 300 instead of 150 ? we're still far away from thousands models)
My thought was more about how many modelers can't buy a multimedia kit of those ones but would buy a plastic kit ?? :naughty:
for sure they are less popular than a S1 or a S4 and a lot of modelers havent' bought a S4 or S1 either and would if it was a plastic kit.
You're right S1 and S4 are way more popular than visa or BX (even in France)
but I would love to see something different from the usuall Gr B models ! :iceslolan
and that could also make modelers buy... in my opinion...

Oh I would love too ! Talbot Lotus, Vauxhall Chevette, Opel Ascona...and Citroën :iceslolan
But a company must think in terms of "obvious" popularity. Could it sell 10 thousands copies (I don't know if this figure is realistic, please someone confirm or not) of a Citroën BX ? A car that made 3 WRC appearances, had catastrophic results and only had 2 different liveries (works and Total IIRC).
Nonetheless, dreaming doesn't cost a thing :p

I know, I know, selling 150 resin kits or selling 10000 (?!) plastic models isn't the same song, of course, and not sure only the price would make so many modelers buy one of the less successful Gr. B... that's right... Even with a popular subject as Gr. B...
hard to say in fact, are the group B fans willing to build all group B models or only the most popular and representive...?!
offer creating demand is probably not the philosophy of the brands by the way !!
so yes we can dream...
