Thumping noise when braking in Honda Accord

Hello!
I have a 2009 Honda Accord LX with about 85,000 miles. It has new brakes (2016) and new tires (2016). Shortly after I had the tires put on I can hear a thumping sound when I apply the brakes. It doesn't usually occur at a quick stopping, but rather at an inching...like if you're going through a drive thru or moving up a bit at a red light. It sounds as if it's coming from the front left tire area. I took it back twice to the place that put the brakes on and they said everything was fine. They lubed everything and the noise stopped for a few days but came back. It seems at this point it's getting worse. I'm wondering if it could be the struts? Please help! I'm extremely frustrated! Thank you in advance!

Wonder if the brake pads are lose and you're hearing them after they release... I know there are several brake shims for many different applications that help snug up the pads if there's any play in them.

Can you hear the sound going over bumps? That would be a good indicator that the pads might be lose.
