I have a ZC SOHC in my 4G4D. Is there a SOHC VTEC head that will fit onto this block without modification, just a straight bolt-on?

If so, do you know how this engine is coded so I can start looking...?

just buy the whole motor save yourself some trouble, d16z6 or d16y8 take your choice

^^^^^^^^

What he said - D series and E series are two different species, the result would be like trying to root your cat, it may be possible, but it wouldn't be without a lot of problems, major surgery, and in the end it wouldn't be very satisfying.* :icon16:

Stick to the same species and either drop in a complete SOHC VTEC or a ZC :)

* I am NOT speaking from experience ;)

The SOHC ZC motor is the exact same thing as the USDM D16A6. so techincally, any SOHC VTEC head would fit right on the block, provided its a D series.

Yep - my bad, D and B series is what I meant, but was just on my way out the door to work. I keep forgeting the SOHC VTEC is a D series. I stand by the original statement though - better to just swap in the motor complete. :)
