Battery charging question

I have a 1999 300M (I know for my question that has no bearing) battery has been dead for several months. Have been trickle charging it most of the day. Wanted to leave it plugged in over night. Wanted to know if it's safe to do so. Because I don't know if my charger has auto shut off. Tryed posting photo of charger but it's to big for upload.
