So I was replacing thermostat in 98 lumina 3.1 and usee the wrong bolt for the upper bolt on the housing and it broke where it mounts onto the block. Now the housing won't seal over thermostat and just pisses coolant everywhere... anyone have this problem? If so is there an easier and less expensive way of fixing or do I have to get a whole new motor? I can post pictures too if needed

Did you remove the broken bolt?

Easiest way to work on this, is to remove the throttle body(just need a new gasket.....
As Kat asked, did you remove the broken bolt? You will have to remove the housing again, and if enough of that bolt is sticking out of the lower intake, should be able to grab it.....
What do you mean wrong bolt? Too long? Too short? Did you damage the lower intake threads? No need to overtorque a rubber seal.....

Did you overtorque and take out the threads? Crack the Lower intake where the housing attaches?

If your repairs don't work you can purchase used parts at a scrap yard. Their is no need to purchase a complete motor. Ask to remove them from a scrap motor that was returned. They sell them for scrap and will want your damaged parts.
