C1 Models/Revell VW Caddy

A few more details to iron out, but mostly finished with the C1 VW Caddy. I had a Revell Cabrio parts kit (I bought a GTI, had Cabrio trees by mistake, Revell sent me a Rabbit so I could finish the GTI, the leftovers were used for this).

The transkit is excellent, very clean casting, very good resin that holds its shape well, not prone to warpage like many white resins. I did have some fitment issues w/the engine compartment behind the area of the body behind the grille, and cutting the side glass was a bit tricky.

Wheels are by Clearly Scale, paint is 2004 Ford GT Gulf Blue, a bit more vivid than the vintage color. Camping swag is by Phoenix toys. The parts will be dullcoated and weathered a bit before this goes w/me to the NNL West next weekend.

Thanks! Yes, wheels and stretch tires from Clearly Scale. Good stuff! Getting them stuffed under the front of this model means it's not prototypical, lowering it make it impossible for the steering to work unless I completely changed where the spindles are located.

Very, very nice ... only the tires seem to fall inwards from the rims.

Nothing wrong with the tires. Modern style low-profile, slightly stretched.

Beautiful build, a must have for vag lovers.

No kidding. I think this tax return I'm going to spoil myself. C1 Caddy, C1 MKII Voomeran trans kit, Scale production MKII rally kit, and a couple more Clearly Scale 16V motors.
