91 DX 4dr auto ... got a few questions

ok so my friends girlfriend got this car not too long ago and there is a few things he wants to do to it cause it drives him nuts

A) Pass side mirror ... how hard is this to do? And are the hatch / sedan mirrors interchangeable?

B) Modding the stock airbox ... so basically you just cut out the bottom and run dryer hose into the bumper right?

C) Rear Disk brake conversion: Fourthgenhatch has a pretty good writeup on this on his site but I got a few questions anyways, first what car do I need to get the ebrake cable from, and second will ones from a first gen (86-89) integra work or should we just try to find some off a 90-93

D) get a rear deck with speakers - currently the one thats in there doesnt have any speakers, but we were lookin and the wiring is all back there, so could I get a rear deck off another sedan and swap it in and have speakers in the back?

E) swap in an LX cluster with tach - ive taken a cluster out before so I kinda know how to do this ... but what about swapping the odometer ... theres just a few screws behind it right?

Anyways thanks for any help you guys can provide ... this car has like 230k or some crazy mileage on it and its slow as hell ... like if you start goin up a hill doin 75 youll end up slowing to 40 by the time you get up it lol .... i keep tryin to talk him into doin a sohc vtec swap or somethin but he wont bite ... says shes just gonna drive it till it dies then get something else ... the paint on its shit cause the previous owner used to wash it with dishwasher soap.

We are also gonna do some cosmetic shit to it maybe ... ive already taken the orange pieces out of the bumper lenses.

A) get one from an LX and cut the wires..once you set it up how often do you really move it??

B) Uh..sure...you can ghetto rig it like that if you want. Any short ram 88-91 Civic intake will fit.

C) I think you need the 90-93 4-door Integra cable. :( - I am looking for one of these too.

D) Any 6.5" aftermarket speakers with 2 1/8" or less bottom depth will fit...and yes...even on the lowly DX, the wiring is there. Just like the hatchie or as a lot of have done int eh front doors, you can use MDF and build up that area for a deeper speaker.

E) Uh...yeah...but why fuck it up? If you are careful, you can make the LX cluster read what ur DX cluster says, and if you fuck that up, THEN swap that shit over ;)

F) The DX is lighter than your LX :thefinger j/k, but Dudette needs a 5-speed

A) yeah but i dunno what pick and pull has ... pretty shitty yard ... so thats why I wanna know if the side mirror from a hatch will fit

B) were keepin it low budget ... plus from what im told this will actually be a lot better than a short ram, just wont have the acoustical benefit.

C) Thanks

D) Thanks

E) and with the cluster ill try making the lx one read what the dx says and if that dont work we will swap it over

F) i havent gotten to ride in it yet but my friend just got back from a trip up to the sierras and they got this video and shes like "oh shit ... it finally hit 40 mph!!!" lol

anyways thanks for the help man.

haha...lol - sure NP dude...I think there are slight differences between the hatchie & sedan mirrors, I read that somewhere, but they always look the same to me :bloated: - she may not care if you are going low budget. - I think some of the 'trim' pieces that stuff in the hole near the glass related to the two mirrors are a little different...

The poor auto is trying its best...too bad the engine doesn't help much. :(

aight then ... hopefully I can find a sedan mirror ... I think I remember seein a burgandy sedan last time I was there that was relatively untouched inside (it had rear ended someone) that was like 3 - 4 months ago though so it might be stripped now ... but then again there might be fresh 4th gens too :bigthumb:

btw yea 91 sedans are a bitch going up hill, i hated my sedan for not having enough ponies for me to cruise on 280, hill infested hwy.

now with the sock in my hatch im not even trippin, i was mobbin at 80-85 no worries ...

theres a difference on the sedan/hatch mirrors
the hatch mirror had a flat top, like one of the tips of the triangle is cut off. The sedan mirror is not cut

i tryed a sedan mirror on my hatch an it didnt fit right

heres a pic of a hatch mirror

Okay, for the odometer issue, i have posted this probably a hundred times

just take a pin and move the odometer back........ thats what i did!

first take out the cluster, then take off the plastc covering, then take a pin and where the odometer is, just take the pin and move the numbers back it works perfectly and doesnt break anything!!

Dunno dude...that might work OK...You may want to find an auto LX cluster...

With the muffler...yeah...but make sure you got liquid wrench/PB Blaster, etc.. that shit is usually mad rusty and all the hot & cold extremes make the shit all molded together. The exhaust should have two bolts to the cat, and then hung on a bunch of rubber hangers.
