Engine Type

hey guys, i know what type of engines in the car, but exactly where is the thing that says what type of engine it is on the actual engine? the label that's like stamped on the engine, not stamped more like plated...?

well if u look under the bonnet, there is a silver plate, rivited to the firewall, look on this and it will give u an engine code, also somewhere around the dizzy as well i think
